E3 2017 has officially begun! This years events were kicked off with EA Play and the EA Press Conference. During the 90 minute conference, EA dedicated just about 30 minutes to Star Wars Battlefront II and a host of details were revealed, including the post launch content plans for the highly anticipated sequel.

New content will be released through themed seasons that will "allow players to continue their hero's journey in a world that is constantly growing."

Each player will have access to these content drops for FREE and these content drops will include things like new star cards, weapons, vehicles, game modes, characters, and locations.

Players will also be able to tackle challenges and live events regularly that will "come with their own special rewards." The first free season will launch in December after the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This first season will include Finn and Captain Phasma as playable heroes and will also feature a new planet called Crait, which was seen in the trailer for The Last Jedi.

“With Star Wars Battlefront II, we’ve really taken feedback from our players to heart, and you see that in the base game, which has so much more content than the first game – a new authentic single player campaign, epic multiplayer, starfighter battles, and solo or co-op PvE on console – a huge game across all eras of the Star Wars films,” says Matt Webster, Executive Producer on Star Wars Battlefront II. “But just as important is how we support the game after launch. Our live service is built around the philosophy of keeping our fans playing together, with seasons that will add meaningful content and in game events on a regular basis.”

It sounds like EA and DICE have really listened to fans concerns over the future of Star Wars Battlefront after the mixed reviews received in 2015. We're excited to bring you the latest from EA Play and E3 2017 here in Los Angeles so stay tuned throughout the week.

Star Wars Battlefront II will launch on Xbox One, PC, and PS4 November 17th, 2017.
