Harmonix has revealed that Rock Band VR will release March 23rd, 2017.
The Oculus Rift exclusive, unveiled at the Game Awards in 2015, was supposed to launch in 2016 but was pushed until a previously undetermined date in 2017 for further development.
The trailer, shown below, does little to actuall illilstrate how the game will actually function, which is odd. To get that information, you have to scroll down into the video description which reads:
"If Rock Band VR’s classic mode is about the pursuit of a note-perfect studio recording, Rock Band VR’s performance mode, illustrated in the above gameplay video, represents the creative freedom of a live concert where no two performances sound exactly the same. In this mode, players experiment with different chords, notes and strum speeds to develop their signature sound and make each performance their own..."
The description also reveals that a more traditional "classic" game mode will be available where you can play the songs you know and love with traditional Rock Band elements.
Harmonix has promised more information before launch, and they had better provide it quickly, as many are still confused as to what the game is actually offering.
