Rockstar have revealed that the Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app will launch alongside Red Dead Redemption 2on October 26th, 2018.
This companion app will allow you to explore the map and set waypoints for your character instead of doing it in game. The app's map will also highlight points of interest for you to explore as you play.
Rockstar have also revealed that some features of the HUD will be able to be moved from the game to the companion app for a cleaner overall experience in the game window. Things like the health of Arthur Morgan, ammunition, and other data will be shown in real time.
Red Dead Redemption 2's companion app will also offer the opportunity to view Arthur's in game journal, see player stats through the Rockstar Social Club, and more.
All in all, this looks to be a much more complete app experience than we've seen from Rockstar in the past and it will be just another way to add depth to your gameplay experience.
