The 20,000 seat Lanxess Arena of Cologne, Germany will be the venue of the “World’s biggest CS:GO tournament,” taking place this Summer. ESL promised that their 2015 event will see more CS:GO action than any other ESL event in history.
All $250,000 (USD) will be funded by ESL alone as opposed to help from funding from Dreamhack like in previous events.

“We’re very excited to be the first German arena to host an event of this kind. We are convinced that Cologne, as both a tourist destination and as a technology capital, is perfectly suited,” said Stefan Löcher, CEO of ARENA Management GmbH. “In co-operation with our partner, ESL, we’re looking forward to host some of the world’s best esports players and their fans.”

Sixteen teams will compete this August (22-23) though at this moment in time, tournament structures and qualification processes have not yet been released.
Ticket sales for the event begin February 23, available from Eventim and all other associated German ticket agencies.
