Destiny's Weekly Strikes Locked Behind Paywall

Are you a Destiny Player? Did you buy the new expansion DLC--The Dark Below--that was released today? No? Well then I've got some bad news for you.

Bungie has decided to lock the weekly strike into its new DLC.

Yes, you read that right, Bungie has locked its weekly re-playable content to its new DLC forcing you to buy the expansion if you want to play this week. Players without the DLC will not be able to do it.

Strikes are challenging dungeon style content that can give you some pretty nice gear rewards and also the currency you need to purchase items from the vendors. Each week, a new Strike is featured by Bungie as the "weekly" and completing these strikes with your friends regularly is really the only way to get decent gear to continue on in the game past level 20.

Bungies decision to lock this weekly behind a paywall is absolutely infuriating and puzzling. I can understand there possibly being a bonus for having the DLC and doing it as the weekly, but why not have a seperate weekly for those players who don't have the DLC? Makes sense, right? It can only be assumed that this behavior will continue with further DLC expansions as well and while $20 this time might not be so expensive for some, what happens when that $20 starts to add up over multiple expansions and DLC?

Its a pattern of puzzling and troubling decisions from Bungie and Activision regarding Destiny and I can only hope they fix this ASAP or else they will have a lot of issues on their hands. We will keep you updated with any announcements or word from Bungie if anything changes.
